Das Fachkonzept Sozialraumorientierung kann als wesentliche Voraussetzung für das Gelingen von Inklusion bezeichnet werden, weswegen die Leitprinzipien in dieser Arbeit näher vorgestellt werden. Das Kapitel zum Themenbereich Inklusion ist zentrales aspect des theoretischen Teils. Hier wird insbesondere der Unterschied zwischen Integration und Inklusion erläutert, als auch die UN-Behindertenrechtskonvention in ihrer Struktur und ihrem Inhalt näher vorgestellt. Des Weiteren wird ein Versuch gestartet, Inklusion im Kontext der Systemtheorie von Niklas Luhmann zu betrachten sowie aus der Konvention resultierende Herausforderungen an die Praxis vorgestellt.
Der empirische Teil beinhaltet Untersuchungen zu Inklusion, Sozialraumorientierung und die Auswirkungen der UN-Behindertenrechtskonvention unter Betrachtung der drei unterschiedlichen Perspektiven im Kontext von Menschen mit psychischer Erkrankung: Fachkräfte im Bereich der Sozialpsychiatrie, Menschen mit psychischer Erkrankung und BürgerInnen einer Gemeinde. Es wurden jeweils unterschiedliche Fragestellungen formuliert, als auch unterschiedliche Erhebungsmethoden ausgewählt. Mit zwei Fachkräften aus dem ambulanten und stationären Bereich der Sozialpsychiatrie wurden Experteninterviews geführt. Die Fragestellung bezüglich des Menschen mit psychischer Erkrankung wurde hingegen narrativ erhoben. Weiter wurde eine BügerInnenbefragung mit Hilfe eines halbstandardisierten Fragebogens durchgeführt. Zusammenfassend wird deutlich, dass Inklusion nicht nur pädagogisches Anliegen, sondern eine die gesamte Gesellschaft betreffende Aufgabe ist. Die Ratifizierung der UN-Behindertenrechtskonvention durch die Bundesrepublik postuliert letztendlich eine stringente Anwendung der allgemeinen Menschenrechte für Menschen mit Behinderung und stellt aufgrund ihrer starken Akzentsetzung auf die Thematik der Inklusion im Selbstverständnis der Menschenrechtsbewegung eine Erneuerung dar.
